The new role of Državne nekretnine in real estate management and disposal procedures presented at the ISPU conference

From April 8th to 10th, 2024, the second ISPU conference of the Ministry of Physical Planning, Construction and State Assets was held at Convention Centre in Šibenik with the aim of improving the system of spatial planning, construction and state property through digital transformation. The project is financed by the EU under the “EU Next Generation” instrument through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan 2021-2026.

On the second day of the ISPU conference, Mirela Habijanec, Board Member and CEO of Državne nekretnine, presented the new role of the company. In 2023, the company’s property portfolio significantly expanded following the enactment of the Law on the Management of State-Owned Real Estate and Movables (NN/155/2023).

The portfolio of Državne nekretnine continues to include three forms of state assets, business premises, apartments and residential buildings. With the new law, property portfolio increased more than 40% and the scope of tasks related to sales and dissolutions also expanded. In order to cope with the new tasks for 2024, the company’s reorganization and systematization, workforce strengthening and the definition of new business processes are underway.

The ISPU conference gathered more than 500 participants from across Croatia, including representatives from local and regional governments, spatial planning institutes, building permit officials, spatial plan creators, relevant ministries, and the academic community, who had an opportunity to learn more about the latest legislative updates in spatial planning and state property management as well as to explore advancements in the Information System for Physical Planning (ISPU), focusing on applications like ePlanovi, the Internal Real Estate Register, etc.
